THE BEGINNING
Founded by Michael Douglas, we distill decades of experience into our hair tools and combine them with personalised tips, tricks and tutorials. With over 35 years in the hair industry, Michael discovered the inspiration for mdlondon during his daily Instagram Live Hair Clinics held during lockdown.
It became clear that people had lost the confidence to style their own hair, and without access to a hairdresser, felt frustrated with their lack of knowledge and technique. The most common message Michael received was \"why won't my hair look like it does when I leave the hairdressers?\"
During these daily chats with thousands of people online, Michael realised he had the solution - to give you the right tools, tips and knowledge to style your hair confidently, no matter what your hair type. In 2022, mdlondon was born, and our first tool, the BLOW hair dryer was launched.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Michael Douglas
I've been a hairdresser for over 35 years and I still think it's the best job in the world. I started as a junior on the salon floor and worked my way up until I was styling hair for celebrities and supermodels, working on fashion shoots and catwalk shows and appearing as a hair expert on TV.
But while I love the fun and glamour of that world, what's always mattered most to me is making every person feel their best. If you've watched me on This Morning, GMB or on The One Show over the years, you'll know I'm on a mission to prove you don't need hours in the salon or loads of products to have gorgeous hair.
Trust me, it doesn't have to be complicated, time-consuming or costly. You just need the right kit and a little bit of know-how - which is where I come in.
